With the likes of Sony and Microsoft preparing for the launch of their new consoles, the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5. Nintendo have decided to shake the market up a little by placing Nintendo Switch lounges in the airports of U.S.A.
It has been reported that Nintendo will be placing Nintendo Switch On The Go pop up lounges, at a number of airports across the United States. These popup lounges will have charging ports incorporated into the design, and will offer the opportunity to demo new game releases – for Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite. Games that will be made available to play will be; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Tetris 99, Super Mario Party, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
People who wish to visit the Nintendo pop up lounge, can also purchase a Nintendo Switch or a Nintendo Lite, if they do they will receive a free promotional carry case with the order. Also on offer will be games and merchandise, but there is a slight 2 day delivery time. Visitors who do not purchase anything will receive a free luggage handle wrap & a $10 coupon for the retail stores Target (only valid if $75 plus is spent on Nintendo products).
Airports taking part in the promotion campaign are:
- Dallas Love Field in the West Terminal between Feb. 13 and March 26
- Dulles in Washington D.C. in Councourse B between Feb. 17 and March 29
- Tacoma in Seattle in Councourse C between Feb. 17 and March 29
- O’Hare in Chicago in Terminal 1, Councourse B between Feb. 17 and March 29
If these promotional popup lounges are popular, Nintendo will probably role them out across airports in Europe as well.
