CERN displays the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) in 360. The LHC is a massive 27-kilometer ring consisting of superconducting magnets housing numerous accelerating structures to give the particles a boost around the 27-kilometer ring.
The CMS is classified as a general-purpose detector located at the LHC. Its program is quite varied from studying the Standard Model, to include the Higgs boson, to detecting any significant signs of dark matter via analyzing extra dimensions and particles. CMS has the same scientific research goals as the ATLAS experiment, however, it utilizes different engineering to include a different magnet-system.
